Brennan has exhibited at MoMA/PS1, Artist Space, Galerie Lelong, and Clifton Benevento in New York, Romer Young Gallery in San Francisco, V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, and Halsey McKay Gallery. He received a NYFA Fellowship in Painting in 2015 and has been reviewed in The New York Times, Modern Painters, Hyperallergic, and The Brooklyn Rail. His abstractions layer paint, dye, and spray against dark grounds — here, geometric forms nest inside each other on a deep blue-black field while a mesh of pink and green lines warps across a triangular shape above. The painting reads like a diagram of signal or frequency without naming it, built in thin precise lines against heavy, mottled texture.

Acquired from the Famous Artists of Williamsburg Pop-Up Covid Survival Exhibit & Very Excellent Art Sale, organized by Jane Fine and James Esber at 179 Grand Street, Brooklyn, 2020. The show brought together seventeen Williamsburg artists during lockdown and was dedicated to Matt Freedman.
