Back in the 1950s, I had an unforgettable time riding bumper cars at Coney Island Amusement Park in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Coney Island was a paradise for kids like me, with Nathan's Hot Dogs, the most delicious French fries, the Parachute Jump, Giant Hardwood Slides, the Steeplechase, and Alfred E. Newman's iconic images everywhere you looked. It was like my first time exploring the world of fear, just like climbing Mt. Everest. This photo captures that magic and transports me back in time. —Michael
